I have had the privilege to help run a holiday programme for the past two weeks looking after kids between the ages of 5 and 15. It was an awesome experience and I loved every single minute of it. 

The things I loved the most was, the widening of the eyes when the kids saw a room full of bouncy castles, the smiles they each shared when they were having a good time, the openness to talk when they felt comfortable, and most of all the child like fun!!!

I am definitely putting my name down for next time.

On the other hand, I took another day roadtrip yesterday with a bunch of friends and made a spontaneous decision to do a treasure hunt. 

Now just to clear things up, my treasure hunts are completely different from what you would imagine, our treasure are people. 

What you do is, when you see a person that stands out to you, take a good look at them and think of an encouraging word, such as "I love your sense of style" or "I think your absolutely beautiful," and speak it out. It will make their day and they will feel very appreciated for someone to take time out of their day to share their encouraging thoughts. It is definitely life changing. I want to encourage you too, to speak to a total stranger and compliment them in anyway you feel will touch them the most. It fills me with Joy when I see them smile, and you too will feel that joy when you compliment strangers.

Why hello blog, It has been a while =)
For the past few weeks I have been super busy working and raising money for my trip to Cambodia and now that I have finally paid for the tickets, its now time to save for food and accommodation. Oh the Joys of saving. But I have 4 weeks to go, and I AM EXCITED!!!

Well I found these little lovelies on the beautiful sight of Etsy, and thought I would share these adorable handmade owls with all my blogging friends. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

New Zealand is not the place to be right now. We have had a 7.1 earthquake down in Christchurch in the South Island, still continuously having after shocks since it happened 2 weeks ago. And now I am snuggled up in bed, cosy and warm, while it thunders, hails and pours down with rain. Oh how I love days like this.


I am still counting down till my trip to Cambodia/Thailand. 7 weeks to go! OoOh Im excited!

The first time I heard this song was when a friend of mine sang it not so long ago. I wanted to hear the original version and I found it and fell in love. Its such a beautiful song!

Sadly I am sick with a head cold, still in bed at 1pm in the afternoon debating whether to get up or not. And I have the joy of going into work in 4 hours.

On another note, last night my friends and I made another spontaneous decision to road trip it up for some dinner. Time to get away and just have some fun with each other. Wow, the power of friendship!

Milk and Honey

Recently i've heard a lot about the meaning of Milk and Honey, it was rather interesting so I thought I would share. Plus I just love these photos.

Milk and Honey is a poetic name for the Promised Land originally from the Bible.

Figuratively, a "land of milk and honey" is any place of great abundance.

I though this was so beautiful that I researched about Milk and Honey and found this description of why we would call a place of great abundance, Milk and Honey.

"Spring is the season that recalls the biblical image of a perfect land so fertile its green hills flow with honey dripping from its hives, like liquid gold in the sunlight. A spacious land covered with pink hawthorn, red cyclamen, and white rockrose. There are the flowers of its myriad wild fruits, and the warm valley air smelling of their nectar."

"And gushing — somehow — from the land itself, there are springs of pure milk white as snow, and bright streams of it flowing through the hills, as if the milk of an eternally vibrant earth mother in her fruitful cycle of multiplication. Birdcage Bliss

Wow it has been a very long while since my last post. I must admit I have been super busy for so many weeks now, but hopefully I will continue to blog more frequently.

Lately I have had this huge desire to make hand made bird cages with the tutorial I put on here quite a while back. I had so much fun last time whilst making them with my friend Melissa (from me to you), and I have that urging desire to have a girls day of hand made crafts and a good catch up.

Although these pictures are not handmade, they are just so beautiful that I thought I may as well post the real thing. Giggle. But these photos are photographed by Saddleworthhiding's who is filled with lovely vintage pieces and beautiful antiques.

Once again I am on a roadtrip with all of my beautiful friends. It has only been our first night and we are heading off to stay in a yacht for 3 days, starting from tonight, which is going to be an amazing adventure.
Today is going to be filled with op shopping, shopping and grocery shopping... can't wait!
We are all getting ready to hit the big shops, so I must go and get ready!

Book Worm

Wow what a week it has been. All I can say is I have had the joy and the giggles all week. How amazing it is to be oh so happy. Its such a beautiful thing.

BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS is all it has been for the past month. I just wanted to engage deeply with a book so that I knew what it felt like to be so emotionally involved. It was GREAT!!! Made sure it was positive which def helped my joyous mood!

Beach Days

Wow can you believe it, its been 3 weeks since my last post! But I have to admit, I had the most amazing time on a long well deserved holiday. Hanging out with friends, road tripping everywhere, visiting family and of course spending time on the BEACH!!!
My favourite memories during these holidays is the time spent playing the guitar, writing new songs, singing with friends and finally achieving to read 3 books I have been dying to read! And Oh how lovely they were.

I see I have a new bunch of beautiful followers on my blog. Well i'd like to say Hello and Welcome, and hopefully the time spent over this beautiful thing called blogging I hope we can become very good friends =)
